looking at the quotes made about the detroit tigers opener on good friday,I thought your comment was spot on.I am from scotland,and support glasgow rangers which is a protestant team.Ihave friends that are catholics and they are sick of complaints made by the roman catholic church.as you quoted its ok for priests to play with little boys,and nuns to punish children.But dont play games on good friday .i have never heard so much drivel.Sunday is meant to be a day of rest ,but there is numerous sporting activities being played.on sundays without complaints.anyway must go now had to get this of my chest . ANOTHER BAILOUT PLAN:
Ok, here's an idea. What do you think?
Instead of the $85 Billion bailout of AIG, let's do this.
How about giving $85 Billion to America in the form of a "We Deserve it Dividend".
To keep it simple with the math, lets's assume there are 200,bona fide US Citizens 18+.
Our population is about 301 million counting every man, woman and child. So, 200 million might be a fair estimate of adults, 18 and up.
So, divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 Billion. That equals $425,000.
So. Lets give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a "We Deserve It Dividend".
Of course it would not be tax free. So, let's assume a tax rate of 30%, but it could be more.
Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500 in taxes. That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.

However, it also means every adult 18+ has $297,500 in their pocket. A husband and wife have $595,000.
What would you do with that $297,500 or $595,000 in your family?
Pay off your mortgage, housing crisis solved!!
Pay off the Credit Cards, credit crunch goes away!!
Repay College Loans…. What a great boost to new grads. Put away money for college, it'll be there, safe in a bank….entrepreneurs!!
Buy a new car… create jobs!!
Invest in the market…. Capital drives growth, pay for your parent's medical insurance, health care improves.
Enable dead beat dads to pay up, come clean, or else!!

Remember, this is for every adult US Citizen 18+, including folks who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.

If we're going to redistribute wealth, let's really do it… instead of trickling out a puny $1,000 that is being proposed now.

If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult US citizen 18+.

As for AIG…liquidate it. Sell off it's parts. Let American General go back to being American General. Sell off the real estate, let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.

Here's the rationale… WE deserve it and AIG doesn't!!!
Sure, it's a crazy idea that can "never work". But, can you imagine the coast to coast block party???

I trust Fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion "We Deserve It Dividend" more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC.
And, remember, this plan really only costs $59.5 Billion, because $25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.

AMEN on that!!!! I am absolutely dumbfounded that Americans (especially women) are leaning towards the republicans!!!! If for no other reason, I would vote Democrat due to the fact that Palin is a
"HOLY ROLLIN PTA Mom" that PROMISES to take away a woman's right to choose!!!!!! Hello??? Oh my GOD!!! She is PRO-LIFE even if the pregnancy is the result of a crime!!!!!! I have done college papers on abortion and from my research I believe that SUICIDE will be on the rise if women are FORCED to have a baby that is a result of RAPE or INCEST. The chances of a healthy baby are slim. I can't imagine carrying a baby, not knowing ANYTHING about the "sperm donar's" background (especially PHYSICAL & MENTAL health). I think Palin should pay child support for EVERY unwanted pregnancy that the result is a live birth! She already owns her own BREEDING FARM so maybe they should physically live with her too! SHE & JOHN MAKE ME SICK!
